Girl Math is a workshop designed to empower young adults, especially women, with essential financial literacy skills often overlooked in traditional education. Inspired by the humorous "girl math" trend on social media, the workshop transforms stereotypes of financial naivety into opportunities for education. Using the University of Illinois’ Financial Planning for Young Adults curriculum, Girl Math combines pop culture with timeless collegiate aesthetics—varsity typography, letterman patches, and vibrant 1980s colors—to make the otherwise daunting subject of personal finance engaging and accessible. Through worksheets, a website, merchandise, and posters, Girl Math reframes the narrative around financial empowerment, turning a social media trend into a movement for independence and confidence.
